4 SIMPLE LIFESTYLE CHANGES FOR WEIGHT LOSS
Weight loss goals can be realized at a faster rate if simple changes are made in our daily routines. Below are a few simple tips to aid in your weight loss journey:
1. Avoid skipping meals – skipping of meals causes you to snack during the day. Usually these snacks are convenient snacks e.g. cookies, chips, soda drinks, biscuits etc. such snacks are loaded with calories and eventually contribute to weight gain.
Skipping of meals also results in overeating during the next meal due to heightened hunger.
2. Do not eat whiles watching TV, playing a game, working behind the computer – the brain is responsible for alerting you when you are satisfied during meal time but when you engage it in other activities whiles eating it will be difficult for to detect the satiety signal.
3. Share your plate of food with a friend/partner when eating out – this is to help you eat less. The quantity of food per plate served in most restaurants and food joints are mostly larger than the body needs. Sharing the meal with a friend helps you to eat less of the food. If you do not intend sharing, you can decide to eat half of the meal and save the rest for your next meal.
4.Drink water (1 – ½ glass) before meals – this fills your stomach and helps you eat less than you usually do.
